Public transport in vietnam

There are several means of transport in cities in Vietnam:
The city bus
The taxi
The motorcycle taxi (xe om)

The city bus:
is the way to the most economical, a ticket costs 3000 Dong (10 cents). However, one must already know the route and stopping down to which one must, since there are no names on the bus stations. It is therefore very difficult to locate. In addition, some buses are crowded.

The taxi
For tourists, the easiest way to get around quickly and safely. There are anywhere near the tourist areas.
It is not necessary to know the price to get vehicles as taxis have a meter.
However beware of several things:
Some taxis are fake taxis with meters tampered with, or even fake companies (especially in Ho Chi Minh City)
Some drivers offer you a price before getting (often much higher than the normal price), then turn off the meter,
So do not agree on a price with the driver, if ever he refuses to turn on his meter, do not hesitate to take another taxi.
To avoid falling on the wrong taxi, you should secure two companies, namely: Mai Linh (present in the country), and Vina Sun (only present in Ho Chi Minh City).

We wish to inform you that the price varies depending on the size of the taxi. If you are two people with no luggage, there is no need to take a taxi with a large trunk of a taxi or 7 seats.
Prices for small taxi are usually 8500-9500 Dongs / Km for small taxis and can be up to 13,000 Dong for bigger. It should however be aware that the price is different depending on the company, and the price is a bit more expensive in Ho Chi Minh City than in the rest of the country.

The Taxi-bikes:
There are all the street corners. You may be tempted to take if you are alone, because in fact it is easier to find as taxis and transport and faster to avoid traffic jams. However for tourists this type of transportation has many drawbacks: You must know the price for agreeing to negotiate with and especially the driver, but mostly it's a very dangerous mode of transport (no signs at intersections, little cautious drivers).
So we do not recommend taking taxis, motorcycles, since it is unnecessary to take as much risk for a holiday.

You will therefore understand, if you want a night out on your own, the easiest and safest for you and take a taxi.
