Zagora to Rissani in Morocco

The roads that bypass the austere mountain of Jebel Sarhro can perform a loop Ouarzazate to Zagora and Rissani and Merzouga, returning through the gorges of Todra and Dades. The route-Zagora Rissani passes through the village of N 'Kob, to ksour particularly photogenic, and up the valley of the Draa 98 km before the junction (near the restaurant La Gazelle) to Tazzarine.

Large taxis run between Marrakech and Tazzarine (70 Dh) between Tazzarine and Alnif (25 Dh) and between Alnif and Rissani (30 Dh), to combine transportation. A bus also connects via Zagora and Rissani Alnif, Tazzarine and Kob on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. If you drive, you will find Ziz petrol stations along the way, but sometimes they are dry. Still unknown, the village-oasis N'Kob worth a stop for its 45 ksour cob. You can even spend the night in one of those who have been converted into guest house. Discover the fascinating architecture of Kob and its geological past over the steps a day organized by the office of the guides, the main street, or make a long trek in the region of Jebel Sarhro, but do not miss the Sunday market.

Beyond Kob, Tazzarine (150 km from Rissani) is a city neglected at the crossroads of Agadir and Zagora, featuring cafes, restaurants, service stations and a market on Tuesday. Further, we arrive at the oasis town of Alnif and pelvis Maida, one of the richest places in the country fossils, including trilobites, ancestors of crabs. Fossils are sold at the roadside, but watch out for fake sculpted in resin, very well imitated. To discover other oasis on the road to Rissani, take a trail that goes north of 47 km and joins the road Ouarzazate-Er-Rachidia (information and maps available at Ihmadi Trilobites Centre). Otherwise, the main asphalt road leading over a hundred miles through the hammada to Rissani.
