The mysterious Bangkok capital of Thailand

On his way north of Th Phayathai and Silom via Th Ratchadamri, one reaches Th Phra Ram I, and shopping districts of Siam Square and Ploenchit Th. To the east of this district, home to Th Sukhumvit Hotel Bangkok means and restaurants, the beginning of this street is known for its shady and sordid atmosphere, while farther to the east of Soi 21 (Soi Asoke) it becomes more sophisticated and expensive.

The Suvarnabhumi International Airport is about 30 km east of downtown.
The old Don Muang Airport, 25 km north, is the hub of many domestic flights to the islands and beaches of Phuket.

A habit, find a map of the city, they abound in Thailand ... We find all kinds of very practical or bad, but unless the country to explore off the beaten path, they should be helpful.

Several maps richly deserve the expense. Often imitated but never equaled, the Nancy Chandler's Map of Bangkok (250 B), color map drawn by hand, includes plans very useful leaflets on Chinatown, Th Sukhumvit Market and Chatuchak weekend. To master the system of city buses, buy the Bangkok Bus Map (150 B) published by Roadway. And if you, the discovery of the city is synonymous with fine dining, choose among the cards Ideal Map, one called Good Eats, which details the restaurants home cooking in three districts of Bangkok dedicated to the pleasures of taste buds.

If we want to move away from the center of Bangkok, the Bangkok City Atlas (250 B) Thinknet is a good investment.
