The Maghreb is a region between Egypt, the Atlantic Ocean, the Sahara and the Mediterranean Sea.
The climate varies according to the Maghreb area where one is. An arid desert where rain is unusual continental regions along the Mediterranean Sea where the weather has been rather mild, temperate, and coastal rain from September to May, and finally some snow-covered peaks in winter !
North Africa offers numerous cultural experiences with interesting and varied history, its tragic past of colonial times to independence. A territory that has a flora and fauna very eclectic, vibrant cities and stunning scenery.
Our trip begins in early Egypt. As soon as we landed at Cairo airport, we imagine the pyramids towering inseparable from Egypt and dating back thousands of years ahead. Egypt has always fascinated humans because of its history dating back to a time when a very advanced civilization populated territory.
To enjoy our freedom, we choose the car rental to get around from North to South of Egypt. We immobilize and at strategic locations in order to make the most of everything that Egypt has to tell us: we will keep in mind the long Sphinx of Giza, very large and remarkable statue is built in front of the great pyramids upstream the Nile Delta. Always cut the breath, we head to Cairo, the capital and largest city, city not to be missed, we enjoy the sun, markets and savory local cuisine (midamess foul, cold cod,. ..). The days that follow, we continue our journey south, driving a few miles on roads unpleasant, but against a part-beautiful landscape that makes up! On our way to Medinet El Fayoum Oasis we contemplate the sublime and the serene spirit that gives us the silent desert.
The time is short, we are only a short afternoon in the city of Luxor where we make good use of our camcorder to the temple and Luxor museum. After these strenuous days of tours of Egypt, we go back to the airport to Alexandria, where a plane to Tunisia ahead.
After a little over an hour flight, we walk on the floor of Tunisia. On leaving the airport in Tunis, we enjoy a blue sky and a sun that hits hard. We are transported to our hotel, ideally located between downtown and the airport of Tunis, where we will put our business to go tanning and then enjoy the beach of Sidi Bou located just 25 minutes by taxi. We will stay four days in this country, certainly not as interesting as culturally Egypt, Tunisia, but demonstrated a people so open and welcoming shares it has nothing to envy of her neighbors! Our favorite points of interest are well on the souks, including our favorites: those of Kairouan, Houmt Souk and Tatooine.
Our long journey ends in Morocco, we land at the airport of Marrakech, where a rental car waiting for us. Fez, Casablanca, Rabat or Meknes, we found different cities from one another but always preserving the merits, the positive and warm Moroccan. Morocco remains our favorite countries in North Africa.
A rewarding stay gave us the opportunity to know better the Maghreb and get a broader view on the various secrets and treasures that are hidden.
