Brussels is a fantastic city, the largest in Belgium and the capital of Europe. The city was very small but has grown significantly and now has over one million inhabitants. Since the Second World War the city has changed and now it is the center of international politics. Brussels is also famous for its magnificent art and architecture. Belgian cuisine is well represented in this capital, the city is full of restaurants and dishes perfect.
If you've never been to Belgium, Brussels is not to be missed. For those who want to travel on a budget, do not worry, there are plenty of things to do in Brussels and here are some examples.
First day:
Begin your adventure with a visit to Brussels in the square. This place is one of the most beautiful in Europe and is even on the heritage list of UNESCO. The architecture of the place is very impressive especially the town hall, which measures 100 meters in height. The facades of all buildings in the square are majestic and it is through these buildings that this place was voted the most beautiful in Europe.
Next, visit the Museum of instruments and music that is very famous for its collection of over 1500 instruments. One reason why this museum attracts tourists is that you can listen to samples of all instruments with helmets.
In the afternoon visit the Cantillon brewery. This building was built in 1900 and they brew all the best Belgian beers such as Lambic, Kriek and Gueuze. You can enjoy wine tasting and you can even chat with the brewmaster on beer and on the machines.
Finish your day in Brussels with a good atmosphere and good beer. Spend an unforgettable evening at the restaurant 'you blue' offering attractive cuisine with typical Belgian dishes.
Second Day:
Start the day with a visit to the courthouse. The palace is perhaps the most famous monument in Brussels. The monument was built in the 1800s with an eclectic style and is the larger building to be built throughout the nineteenth century.
If you want to see the whole of Europe in one place visit the mini-Europe. This incredible park rebuilt throughout Europe with over 300 small models. You can see the best sights of all the cities in Europe as Big Ben in London or the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
This attraction has become one of the most popular in Brussels with three hundred thousand visits each year. There is another monument next to the park called the Atomium. The monument was built for the expo in 1950 and it measures 100 meters in height. Go up to an incredible panorama of the entire city.
Finish your little trip to Brussels in one of the most famous bars in the city, 'the Poechenellekelder'. This amazing place offers a wide selection of Belgian beers and cuisine of the region.
