A European correspondent recently asked me if it was possible to stay in a hotel in Montreal without spending a fortune while having the comforts for a pleasant journey. Most definitely. We must consider two things: on the hotel that you will attend and the area in which it is located.
First, what type of school will you choose? If your goal is to have a pleasant stay without breaking the bank, put aside at once the big international hotel chains. While you're sure to find all the comforts required, but also pay a price that is not really justified. One can find many services and comfort in hotels of lesser fame. Whether small hotels, inns and B & Breakfast, it fits into it comfortably, often at a price half that in a large international hotel.
Second, in what area do you reside? You can find hotels, motels and inns in almost all parts of the city of Montreal. But all parts of the city are not much interest. There is no need to save on the price of a hotel room in Montreal by going to reside in a suburban neighborhood if you have to spend a fortune on taxi and other transportation costs. The ads on the Net will present institutions whose benefits seem interesting, but if you do not know a little bit different neighborhoods in Montreal, you could have unpleasant surprises. The city is extensive and the suburbs is not always easily accessible by public transport. Not to mention the time wasted to get to the attractions of Montreal. It is better to opt for more central districts, not necessarily the center, often beyond price, but in neighborhoods that are adjacent to both residential and very urban and which can easily walk to the various tourist spots.
In short, stay on the island of Montreal, stay as close to downtown and avoid the big chains of hotels and your stay in Montreal will be a complete success.
