A study of Mondial Assistance on the number of insurance contracts underwritten until December 5, 2008 for travel purchased online from 15 December 2008 to 15 March 2009 shows that Spain is with England, the first tourist destination for Europeans.

Also, among the seven European countries under scrutiny, Spain appears to be the first destination in number of flights scheduled for the Dutch with 24% and Germany with 18%.

19% of Britons and 16% of Italians also chose the Spanish sun for their winter holidays, even if the Iberian Peninsula is not the first destination.

Another interesting phenomenon, that of the Spaniards with the crisis that strongly affects the country and its people requires less distant destinations. Thus, 43% of flights are planned for the interior.

These figures seem encouraging for a possible resumption of the Spanish economy hard hit by the crisis affecting mainly the banking sector, construction and real estate. The arrival of foreign tourists and will perhaps allow, for the system of leasing, to cushion the real estate crisis and revive the economy in Spain.

Indeed, judging by the results of VacancesEspagne.fr, website that offers vacation rentals in villas, houses and apartments for rent from the owner all over Spain, there are reasons for optimism . Indeed, the use of the site from 01 January to 5 March 2009 increased by 89.04% over the same period the previous year and the number of inquiries received from potential renters to owners has increased its 48 points The number of houses offered for rent, it has increased by 28% between 2008 and 2009, to over 3200 locations in Spain in the selection of future guests.

The question is whether the Europeans will also choose Spain for their summer holidays.
