This, on the left at the north end of Imelghas, then, about 15 km, it bifurcates to a yellow sign on top of a hill
rock: turn right onto Zaouiat Ahansal. Portions of this trail are paved now, but it runs slowly on the winding mountain road, especially on Mondays, market day. In Zaouiat Ahansal, cross the bridge to the beautiful towers of the adobe anden douar (village) perched on a steep hill, which once housed the 300 villagers.
Immediately after this landmark stands on the left, the weaving of the Association of Zaouiat Ahsal, a weaving center and training of women. You will see the apprentices and maâlem (master craftsmen) handled with dexterity stunning antique tools with teeth for making rugs. You attract the general hilarity by trying to imitate them and do not get upset if they break up then your node. The rugs are on sale and a portion of the profits finance the training and clinic of the association, the rest goes directly to women who make them.
The association also operates the gite of Sidi Ahmed Amandari which has hot showers in bathroom areas clean, and women who are warmly welcome you.
The profits are donated to the clinic and training center. Other deposits are located in the surrounding villages of Agoudim, and Amezrai Taghia (2-hour hike upstream). To the north, Ouaouizarht has a hotel and the market on Tuesday.
If you have little time, it is better to rent a 4x4. Otherwise, trucks traveling between Sunday and Tabant Zaouiat Ahansal, minibuses run regularly Zaouiat Ahansal and Ait Mohamed (40 Dh), and serve less frequently via Ouaouizarht Tilougguite.
